Established in 1994, New Dimension Steel Orchestra (New D) nonprofit organization has been a North York fixture for Steelpan in the York Mills and Leslie area. Three young musicians currently lead New D, and the band caters to players of all ages and skill levels, emphasizing captivating young people. Performing a range of genres such as soca, reggae, jazz, rnb, and pop, the band produces beautiful original arrangements and renditions of popular music, Other than performing at events, New D prepares during the summer months for the annual Ontario Steelpan Association’s (OSA) Pan Alive competition held at Lamport Stadium in Toronto. New Dimension Steel Orchestra educates and promotes the Steelpan in the Greater Toronto Area and hopes to expand internationally to spread the joy of steelpan.

Hosted by New Dimension Steel Orchestra at Tropicana Community Services on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 5-8 pm, this event promises a captivating musical experience.
Refreshments are included in the ticket price, and a cash bar will be available.

Workshops & Lessons
From personalized lessons to community-oriented workshops, we offer a variety of learning options. Our experienced instructors will work with students of all ages and experience to give them a solid Steelpan foundation.
Ever wanted to experience the true essence of a Pan yard? Feel free to come by from mid-June onwards as we practice for gigs and OSA’s annual Pan Alive competition. We also have community events and fundraisers in our yard during the summer months open to all.
